Literature Text

I stand in a blizzard
sprinkled with shredded coconut, stars
in the night sky of my summer blackened hair
Twinkling

Wind's delicate hands pinch my rose cheeks numb
blue fingers nibbled by the tiny canines of cold
Thoughts dissolve in the sweet chills that coat me
And I watch them drifting, tossing
Tumbling in the wind
An inviting embrace of ice
A blur and rush of white

Trembling lips stilled
by the kiss of frost
Shivering heart stilled
by the
warmth
of
winter.
I was waiting out in the softly falling snow one afternoon in December and became inspired to write this.
To me, winter is beautiful, and much more "warmer" in a sense than summer is.

I might draw something later that is inspired by this poem. I just might.
